I can never understand this viewpoint.
Why should the whole house suffer just because the wife is unhappy ? Is this a new thing ? Why should the wife/girlfriend constantly be kept happy just for things to be ok ?
The happy wife, happy life thing is so grounded in ego, it's alarming. It seems completely unreasonable to me for this type of thing to exist.

That phrase came into use during a time when the wife was a stay at home. Think 1950's. If the person at home is happy, they will be more productive, and chores will be done, dinner made, etc.
The happy = productive correlation is still around today. Employers try to keep morale up because happy employees are more efficient workers.
It's not a new concept, and I can see it even if you are off the grid. Crops growing well, encouraging you to work harder in the garden and obtain a greater harvest, meaning sufficient food for the winter.
The idea behind it is not based in ego, it's an egotistical statement wrapped around a sound sociological observation.

It's a two way thing. Maybe more of a culture custom from the New World. In a lot of cultures,it's the other way around. I am always reading news articles on how a wife was beat for not obeying her husband and making HIM happy.
At the end of the day,I believe it's not whether if the husband can make the wife happy or vice versa,it's more of an internal individual thing. Can we as an individual make ourselves happy..I think it's when we start depending on someone else doing that for us we start running into problems Reply With Quote

wife have to handle all responsibilities. if she is happy, she is more productive. can you do any thing good with bad mood, of course not. so that, happy women do all work happily and well done.
